To start it off red velvet cupcakes or cakes differ from other cupcakes because of its use of buttermilk or vinegar in its batter. The red color either comes from red dye or wait for it, beets. I personally use beets because it gives the cupcake a brighter more prominent red, however using two bottles of red dye is so much easier and faster.
As popularity goes I think it just started as a fad just like when cupcake businesses open. Though red velvet cupcakes are delicious there are much more options and combinations of flavors available that are just as delicious. They are extremely popular now but I’m pretty sure its 15 minutes of fame will pass soon.
Here is an example of a delicious red velvet cupcake that I purchased from Cupcake Royale located in the Junction on California Ave in West Seattle. Visit their website at: http://www.cupcakeroyale.com/

So, when you add links in a blog post, on even in this class, you need to embed the links :) It is not difficult and it helps make your blog look more attractive and it becomes interactive for your audience. I posted a link that offers you a quick overview on how to do this in our classroom, under your post.
ReplyDeleteFrom a content level, I would also suggest getting into the history of some of these beautiful baked goods. Where did the Velvet cupcake come from? I would love to find out!
I love red velvet cupcakes, and all cupcakes in general. I think the red velvet is such a popular choice for a bakery to make and sell is a level of standard. Everyone knows what a delicious red velvet cupcake should be like and its a bakery's way of saying look how good I made this classic.
